Enjoy the flexibility and comfort of learning from home

Enjoy the comfort of learning from your own home while still receiving high quality, fully funded K-12 education, in line with Ministry of Saskatchewan guidelines.

At Sask DLC, we acknowledge that every student has unique learning preferences. That is why we provide two learning options for you to choose from, which are based on what works best for you and your family while considering your schedule and preferred learning style.

Learning Model Options for Kindergarten to Grade 9

Full time K-9 students have a choice between Asynchronous and Synchronous learning models. These models are supported through resources that best suit your learning needs, based on your grade.

Detailed comparison between Asynchronous and Synchronous models
Synchronous (Live Classes) Learning Option

This option is for students who thrive with a set schedule and lots of teacher time. Students attend live classes daily and will enjoy the benefits of teacher-led instruction, through broadcast lessons, at set times throughout the day.

Asynchronous (Flexible Schedule) Learning Option

This option is for students who are independent and self-motivated and like to set their own pace. Families have the freedom to build an agreed upon schedule with their teacher. Teachers are available for support and optional online meetings.

Distance Learning – You’re not in this alone

We believe that every student deserves individual attention and support. Whether you need help with a particular concept or managing your workload, our teachers are here to guide you every step of the way. Our teachers are available during school hours by phone, email or video conference so you can get in touch with them when you need help or have questions about your coursework.

In addition to your teacher, academic advisors can help high school students explore career options and offer tools to help understand your strengths, when thinking about your future. They will offer advice and guidance on your course choices and make sure you have the credits you need to graduate.

Parent Responsibility

As a parent you are an important part of your child’s education. Although each Sask DLC course is led by a certified teacher who provides regular online instruction, elementary-aged students need additional guidance and support from their parents. Parents can help by:

Monitoring Students Daily

assist with timely submission of assignments

Maintaining Weekly Progress

schedule schoolwork time to meet course timelines

Communicating with Sask DLC

keep in contact with teachers and school administrators by phone, email or Parent Teacher Student Conference nights

What is the time commitment?

Our courses cover ministry outcomes for each grade. The time your child will need varies with each individual and often depends on student maturity, ability to focus, degree of independence and goals.

Resources for Success

We will send you the resources you need for the school year, including Sask DLC teacher-created courses with the books and materials you’ll need to ensure your success.

Teachers & Supports

Our teachers and support staff are committed to helping you learn in the way that works best for you.
