This course offers hockey players at various levels the opportunity to develop your skills, fitness levels, mental training, and leadership skills.
You will learn individual and team goal setting, leadership and team building, sportsmanship and fair play.
You will also learn technical hockey skills, on-ice drills, offensive and defensive tactics, fitness and strength conditioning and video analysis.
This course can be adapted for goalies, upon request to your teacher.
You are required to be part of a hockey team, have access to ice-time and a coach. Your coach will need to complete an evaluation early in this course and provide feedback throughout the season.
As this course requires you to video yourself in on-ice sessions both in practices and games, it is very important that you manage your time effectively. It is also important that you get your on-ice activities completed early in the season so you have avoid having to complete this work during playoffs. Videos can be taken with a smart phone or tablet device.
