You will develop understanding of the basic institutions of industrialized democratic societies. You will examine a variety of societies around the world and compare the organization of society in Saskatchewan with that of other societies, while expanding your knowledge of the French language.
You will explore how social organizations developed in the late 18th and 19th centuries and how those impact the world we live in today.
You will examine the major political ideologies (conservatism, liberalism, socialism and nationalism) that emerged in the 19th century. You will learn about political and economic decision making and international economic relations prior to World War 1.
Note: You need to have been previously in French Immersion to register in this course. This course is equivalent to History 10/Indigenous or Native Studies 10/Social Studies 10.
