Football Skills 10L

Football Skills 10L introduces students to the basic concepts of football. Students will explore the elements and rules of tackle, touch and flag football and demonstrate individual and team football skills, while developing their fitness levels, mental training and leadership skills.

Football Skills 10L is only available in Semester 2. Football Skills 20L and 30L will be available in the 2025-26 school year.

What Will I Learn?

  • Students will examine the importance of basic training, conditioning, nutrition and mental wellness in developing an athlete. The will learn about game strategy and tactics, individual and team goal setting, leadership, communication and team building, sportsmanship and fair play.

  • Students will also have the opportunity to explore pathways in football beyond high school.

  • Students will benefit from access to a football coach or another knowledgeable mentor that can provide feedback to them, but it is not required.

  • The student and teacher can adapt this course for flag football.

  • The course includes videos and resources created in partnership with Saskatoon Minor Football's Institute of Saskatchewan Football.
