This course provides an introduction to electricity and electronics including topics such as electrical principles, wiring electrical circuits, measuring instruments and electronic components.
You will learn basic concepts of electricity, including current, voltage, and resistance, as well as the differences between alternating current and direct current. You will learn about general safety practices, specifically focusing on electrical safety and the safe use of hand and power tools.
Topics including the processes of power production and distribution and the function of transformers will be covered. You will also explore series, parallel and combination circuits.
You will be exposed to use various measuring instruments and meters and will learn the essential skills and techniques required for wiring electrical circuits.
You will also have a chance to explore potential career opportunities in the electrical field and the significance of apprenticeships in the skilled trades.
