You will be introduced to the base skills of carpentry and construction, including identifying types of tools and materials, estimating projects, measuring and layouts, and safety practices.

What Will I Learn?

You will learn about wood production, how to estimate projects and how to properly measure and plan out layouts. You will also learn about the safe use of fasteners and adhesives, portable and stationary power tools, while exploring career opportunities available in this field.

Through the final project in the course, you will go through the steps required to plan construction of a deck in Saskatchewan, adhering to National Building Codes and Standards.
