What Will I Learn?

You will learn about the injury prevention in the work place, how to remove and install auto glass, how to use advanced power tools and pulling equipment and the techniques used to repair contoured surfaces. You will also be introduced to prepping surfaces for paint, how to use a paint gun and how to finalize a project through detailing.

This course consists of:

  • 50 hours of online theory

  • 40 to 50 hours of practical, hands-on work placement coordinated by Sask DLC at a local dealership

  • optional one-day learning camp at Saskatchewan Polytechnic which will count towards your 50 hours of work placement. If you choose not to attend the learning camp, all 50 hours can be completed at the work placement.

Work placements provide you the opportunity to experience the newest technology, tools and expertise being used in the industry while exploring if this trade career might be right for you. This is only possible with the support of our partner, the Saskatchewan Association of Automotive Repairers.

All students, parents and mentors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with our work placement information.

We will do our best to find a local work placement; however, we may not be able to accommodate placements in all situations, and/or some travel may be required.
Travel is at the student’s expense. If you have questions about work placements or Sask DLC courses, email [email protected] or call our main office at 306-252-1000.
