You will be introduced to the basic skills needed in the autobody industry, including how to assess and repair collision damage. This course combines online theory with a 25-hour work placement that will provide hands-on experience in the automotive repair industry.
Sask DLC will coordinate the work placement at a local dealership.
You will study various hand and power tools, auto design and repair techniques. You will also explore career paths and apprenticeship opportunities in the industry, while focusing on personal and workplace safety.
This course consists of:
75 hours of online theory
25 hour work placement at a local dealership coordinated by Sask DLC
You can also participate in an optional one-day Autobody Learning Camp at Saskatchewan Polytechnic that counts towards your work placement hours.
Work placements provide you the opportunity to experience the newest technology, tools and expertise being used in the industry while exploring if this trade career might be right for you. This is only possible with the support of our partner Saskatchewan Association of Automotive Repairers.
All students, parents and mentors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with our work placement information.
We will do our best to find a local work placement; however, we may not be able to accommodate placements in all situations, and/or some travel may be required.
Travel is at the student’s expense. If you have questions about work placements or Sask DLC courses, email [email protected] or call our main office at 306-252-1000.
