You will be introduced to small and large agriculture equipment with a focus on safety. The course covers the latest technology in agricultural machinery, as well as the tools and materials needed for maintenance as you explore what it’s like to be part of this in-demand career. During the work placement, you will gain experience in equipment upkeep, diagnosing and repairing common problems.

This course consists of:

• 50 hours of online theory to be completed from September to mid-November

• 50 hours of work placement which consists of:

  • 40 to 50 hours of a work placement at a local ag equipment dealership to be completed from mid-November to the end of the semester. Sask DLC will coordinate the work placement.

  • optional one-day AET Learning Camp at Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Saskatoon (typically held in December). If you choose not to attend Learning Camp, you simply complete all 50 hours at the work placement.

Work placements provide you the opportunity to experience the newest technology, tools and expertise being used in the industry while exploring if this trade career might be right for you. This is only possible with the support of our partners, the North American Equipment Dealers Association and Canada Equipment Dealers Foundation.

All students, parents and mentors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with our work placement information.

We will do our best to find a local work placement; however, we may not be able to accommodate placements in all situations, and/or some travel may be required.
