Access to horses and facilities is required.

You may choose to take either Cow/Calf or Equine studies to earn this credit, but not both.

What Will I Learn?

You will learn about safety and environmental stewardship, indoor and outdoor housing facilities, grooming and safe transportation. You will also expand your knowledge of business management skills including record-keeping, communication skills, interacting professionally and displaying a positive attitude toward equine and personal safety.

Access to a horse and equine facilities is required to practice skills and create videos demonstrate what you've learned.

Due to the potential hazards when dealing with horses, students must have an adult mentor’s permission and willingness to supervise and guide the hands-on activities.
