Ag Production - Cow /Calf 20 focuses on cattle production safety, planning, nutrition, healthcare, pasture maintenance, record-keeping, and production regulations.

Students may choose to take either Cow/Calf or Equine studies to earn this credit, but not both.

Recommend completing Ag Production - Cow/Calf 10. Access to cattle and livestock facilities is required.

What Will I Learn?

Students will explore topics related to farm safety, livestock handling and regulations, record keeping, breeding programs, nutrition and healthcare, and farm maintenance.

Due to the seasonal nature of this course, we suggest that students who register for Semester 1 allow all year to complete the course.

The course consists of:

  • 30-40 assignments

  • a resource binder final project

  • hands-on skills

  • creating videos to demonstrate skills learned
